can't start a flame without you

Prom Night -- Anamanaguchi stage: Fresh
words: 305 The little black blob bounced around the town center. The village itself was pretty peaceful, though the Fresh Digimon was surprised. How could any little village be this quiet? For whatever reason, Solaris felt uneasy. Uneasy being he wasn't sure if it should be this peaceful. There always seemed to be Digimon hiding in the shadows, plotting against the Digimon who didn't do anything to them.
It made him sick.
The Fresh Digimon probably couldn't even say much about that, though. He hadn't been 'alive' for long, but he still held his sense of mistrust against some Digimon. Still, he bounced his way along the center of the village while lost in his thoughts. He wasn't very strong, so he couldn't enforce himself very well. Maybe what he needed was a partner... or at least someone to help him train. Yeah, that was it! He'd find another Digimon to help him train! That way he could take down any Digimon who tried to disturb the peace here. If he could smile, there would be a grin plastered all over his face.
How would he go about this though? It wasn't like he could just... yell and someone would walk up. Or could he? It was worth a shot. As embarrassing as it would be to yell in a quiet town, it would get anyone's attention nearby. Sol decided he would do it, definitely.
"HEY! I need a training partner! Will someone help me out?!" He yelled as loud as his little lungs would go. It wasn't... eloquent, but the Botamon was desperate. There had to be someone out there willing to at least give him some tips or something.

MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Everyone seemed to look at Boss in a different light after he’d evolved. It felt…weird. For starters, the ones that usually made fun of him for being a floating blob were now the ones glancing at him with looks of surprise and awe. As he traveled through the village, he also got a few looks of curiosity. He couldn’t help but agree with him. His evolution was a bit odd considering it was incredibly fast paced as well. He wasn’t even an in-training for a few days and already he’d achieved rookie. But who cared, it felt incredibly good as well.
“Haha, this is awesome.”
He was talking to himself, but some of the other wandering fresh levels overheard the samurai dragon’s self conversation of joy and simply rolled away while occasionally looking at him. It seemed like some of them didn’t recognize him or just didn’t remember him. The ryudamon simply shrugged his shoulders. He couldn’t stay here too long though; he had some work to do. The words of his so called leader rung through his head. He needed to find some materials for their new base of operations and he’d decided to scout through the village for any scattered junk that may have been of some use. Considering his operation a failure, Boss made his way through the center of the village, something caught his attention.
There’d been a botamon yelling something in the middle of the village square, something about a training partner. Everyone seemed to be ignoring the little guy as he cried out for a sparring partner. Was it because he was ‘young’? Boss couldn’t help but glance at the guy from afar as most of the younger ones went about their day and the older ones simply went by and snickered about him. Well that wasn’t exactly nice. The ryudamon seemed to sympathize with the botamon considering he was like that not even a while ago.
“Not like I have anything…important to do.” He told himself. The pink mouse could wait, he couldn’t leave someone in the dust like that. He approached the botamon with a wave and a smile, crouching slightly so the two would at least meet eye to eye.
“Hey, I don’t mind giving you some help. Truth be told, it’s kinda passive here. I’m kind of in the same boat, so how’s about we help each other out?”
The ryudamon kept the eager smile on his face. It was worth a shot.

can't start a flame without you
Prom Night -- Anamanaguchi OOC| Nope I don't!
words: 350 Sol blinked his beady yellow eyes, huffing a little from his yelling. It seemed like he was being ignored, all other Fresh or In-Training Digimon going about their business. He grumbled to himself a little. This was going to be harderr than he thought. He probably was the only little Digimon in this silly village that cared enough about the safety of it. They were all blissfully unaware of their situation or anything outside of the tiny village.
Man, that sucked.
He flattened himself a little, which was easy since he was such a blobby creature. So, time for another plan. Maybe he'd just have to go by himself? Hm... he could be strong enough to handle himself. It wasn't a smart idea, but hey it was still an Idea. Before he could hop away he found himself turning to see a larger Digimon heading towards him. There was a grin on the lizard's face and a wave to boot. So maybe his plea had been heard? He blinked curiously as the Digimon squatted down to his eye level. Dang, this Digimon was big compared to the little black blob.
He wondered if he'd be that big someday. Maybe, or maybe not, but at least this guy was paying attention to him!
"Hey, I don’t mind giving you some help. Truth be told, it’s kinda passive here. I’m kind of in the same boat, so how’s about we help each other out?”
The same boat? That miffed Solaris. He would think that a Digimon of that size would be able to handle himself on his own. Either way, the Botamon was appreciative of this lizard Digimon.
"Thank you!" He said quickly before coughing, "I mean, uh, I'm sure we can work something out. I'll do whatever I can... though my size isn't very helpful." His yellow eyes darted to the ground before looking back up at him.
"What'd you have in mind?"

"I wanna be...something."
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Boss’ efforts seemed to come to fruition. The little Botamon was eager for him to help judging from his exclamation of joy. Everyone else seemed to just go about their day. Ah well, not like they were going to need them. if they wanted to be complacent, that was their choice, no need to mad at them about it. Violence or anything of the sort was incredibly uncommon here other than the occasional squabble between who got to play with whom and who stole what. This place wasn’t exactly a good training spot, so there was that little snag. He’d cross that bridge when he got to it. For now, it was time to give someone else some help that he didn’t get until recently.
“Size doesn’t matter, really. I used to be small and could still pack a good hit.”
As for what he had in mind, he had to think for a few moments. What could they do that could actually benefit the both of them? Relatively speaking, the gap in power between the two was rather immense. As Boss mulled over the options, an idea began to spark in his head. He was having trouble moving in this form when it came to speeds faster than walking since had all this armor, so why not try and fix that with some reflex training? The botamon could also get some work since he would have someone suited up for him to tackle at to his heart’s content.
“How about we try something like target practice, though not here since it’s a bit crowded. There’s a nice little spot where the others play that I think is empty now, we can go over there.” He offered. “You just try and tackle me and I try to dodge as best as I can, a good start at least.”
Hoping that the botamon would accept, Boss would begin to walk, but quickly turn his head around with that same smile.
“Oh, yeah, do you have a name?”

can't start a flame without you
Prom Night -- Anamanaguchi stage: Fresh
words: 413 The Ryudramon's words seemed to surprise him. He knew that Digimon could grow bigger, but the fact that the Digimon had been small once like him was beyond his comprehension. It made him wonder if he would grow to that size as well... Probably with the training he was going to have with him! He blinked back at the Digimon, listening carefully to his idea. The only attacks he really knew were bashing his squishy body into something or a pathetic bubble attack. To be fair, he was still young. It wasn't like he was going to learn to defeat an army too early. He was pretty sure there weren't enough Digimon out there anyway to fill an army. That was just his ignorance of the world talking though. He hadn't really ventured outside the village before since he had been born. The little Botamon tilted his head curiously back at the Ryudramon.
So he was still having trouble in that big body? Solaris guessed that would make sense. The armor encasing the Digimon seemed pretty tough, and it probably was heavy too. The little Digimon tried to picture his own black blobby figure in armor, but it was beyond him. He was almost tempted to ask where he had gotten that stuff. Sol decided not to, nodding his head as best he could towards the Ryudramon.
"That sounds like a good idea." Solaris blinked back at him. He suddenly realized it might not be a good thing to be so trusting of this Digimon. He could steal his belongings or something when he wasn't looking! The Botamon blinked again. Nah, maybe not. Why would a villain approach a little kid expecting to steal stuff off of him? It wouldn't be very smart. He didn't have any pockets to keep anything in anyway. Solaris suddenly realized the Dragon Digimon was already walking off without him! He quickly bounced after him, trying to keep up with the other Digimon's longer strides. Man, having legs would be great!
"Solaris... but you can call me Sol." The Botamon replied, looking at the other Digimon's smile. He seemed nice enough, especially to help the younger one train.
"What's yours?" It was only polite to respond, "I don't think I've heard of this 'play place' either... Where is it, anyway?" Might as well get some information.

"I wanna be...something."
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Boss hadn’t meant to actually leave the little guy behind, it was a bad habit of his to get going as soon as things were done. He stopped and waited for the botamon –Sol- to keep up as soon as he could. He would have offered to carry him, but didn’t expect that to go too well. He was still rather young and probably preferred moving around on his own, he knew he did when he was a fufumon. Sadly, even If he did want someone to carry him, they would have been scared by that giant horn of his. Ah well, it was in the past, as weird as it was to think about. He glanced back at the fresh level, contemplating on what else they could actually do what with the massive difference in size and strength. The ryudamon knew he had a heck of a repertoire of attacks he could do and had to take note of that, but all the little guy had was bubbles until he got stronger. Maybe he could help with that instead of just some simple training.
After his introduction was finished, Boss turned his head around fully with a smile. “Name’s Thunder, but mind just calling me Boss? Weird as it seems, I respond better to that.” He chuckled to himself. He still had to figure that one out. Right after he was born, he seemed to just respond to the latter rather than the former. Boss figured it had to do with those jumbled visions he’d been having since he hatched.
“And the place is just up this way, right between these two buildings.”
As the botamon followed him, he’d see two small buildings side by side a bit outside of the village square with an average sized alley right down the middle. As the two would go through, Solaris would be treated to a nice expanse of land with some soft dirt. This place was like a secret playground for the new hatchlings if they could find it. Usually some came in groups, some alone like Boss. He’d come here when he didn’t have anyone to play with and would just fly around till he got tired.
“Nice, right? Don’t think anyone will bother us here.”
The ryudamon would start to walk towards the middle of the little field, looking back at Sol with a curious look. “Before we start though, mind if I ask you something? Why is it you wanna train? I’m not opposed to helping or anything, just didn’t think I’d find a ‘mon I have something in common with.” |

can't start a flame without you
Prom Night -- Anamanaguchi stage: Fresh
words: 480 Solaris hopped along behind the Ryudramon, eyes wandering as they walked. He hadn't really been too far outside of the town's boundaries, only occasionally when his lust for wandering called to him. He wondered if that had to do with his past, but it really didn't matter at this point. The past was in the past and it wasn't like he could do anything about it anyway. It was all just jumbled up memories and the like. It bothered him a little, but maybe one day he'd make sense of it all.
The Botamon looked back at the Ryudramon. If he could, he probably would've raised an eyebrow back at the Digimon's curious name. Thunder to Boss? It seemed a jump between the two. His curiousity was perked, but he decided to leave it alone. It wasn't much of his buisness, but the Botamon did feel a bit concerned that the Digimon went under two names. He guessed it was probably just personal reasons, but whatever.
"Boss. Huh, interesting." He muttered before speaking up more clearly, "Nice to meet you then, Boss." It felt a little weird hearing the term roll off his tongue, but Sol dropped the thought once they arrived.
His eyes wandered the new location, taking it all in. He surely hadn't been to this part of town. The place seemed open enough for rough-housing, especially for any sort of training that they'd do. Luckily, as Boss had mentioned, there was no one in sight. Sol still kept his guard up, criminals always seemed to love empty spots for any weak Digimon to pass through. He certainly hadn't run into one, but he wasn't taking any chances.
"Yeah, nice. I'm surprised a spot like this is out here." He mentioned, bouncing forward a little. He would've thought the city would've taken up most of the land. Guess not every civilization would eat up the land. The blob Digimon turned back towards the Ryudramon at his question. The Digimon did deserve to know, but at the same time the Botamon was wary. If this Digimon was a thief, he could probably take him out right here. He hesitated. He guessed if the Digimon was planning to attack him earlier, he would've done it already considering how small the blob was.
"Well... I wanna be strong. I wanna put theives and criminals in their place. I can't really do it in... this body," He glanced down at his soft, squishy self, "I've seen some Digimon evolve into bigger ones, like you. I wanna become even stronger so I can wipe guys like that off the map. They're bad news, and no Digimon should have to answer to that." He paused, but hopefully his point had gotten across.

"I wanna be...something."
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Boss nodded. Yeah, for some reason, this place was like a little haven for people who wanted to play in secret or just be by themselves. He and Solaris exchanged a few words before finally getting to the nitty gritty of it. He crossed his arms as the botamon answered his question, occasionally nodding. He had to admit, the little guy had a heart of gold…whatever that meant. He wanted to be the hero, to put the bad guys in their place and protect the little guys. The only problem was that he couldn’t achieve that goal in this form. For that, he needed to evolve and get stronger. Once he was finished, Boss had quite the grin on his face.
He had to admit, that was pretty righteous, if a bit corny. While he wouldn’t say it to his face, he did share his opinion. “I gotta admit, that’s a pretty good goal. With a conviction like that, I’m sure you’ll get pretty far.” As soon as he was finished, the ryudamon stepped back a bit, slowly shifting his legs apart and into a defensive stance, preparing for Solaris to charge.
“Just one thing you should keep in mind.” Boss began taking a deep breath before shooting off a small flaming piece of metal in Solaris’ general direction. It wasn’t meant as an intimidation tactic, but rather a message of what was to come. Boss was young, yes, but something in the back of his mind told him that the path of being an actual hero was paved with difficult things, including cheap shots.
“Get ready for things like cheap shots, being taken advantage of, the works.”
