The staff are having a bit of indecision about this problem, you see the main lines are allowed to be customary meaning you can make it up. Like for example how X-antibody can appear or Calumon have been accepted so far, those two were issues that we didn't really push or have huge conflict with. However as you guys know, we've been saying no spirit because we need mega spirit sacrifice, and the crests will come in the future. Well what if you want to use the digimon in your main line just as a regular digivolution earning the fractal codes and such. Should we do this by cutting their power?
Spirit digivolution:
The decision has been with the Spirit digivolution, one that has yet to be announced or added into the rules is any level tier you use a spirit form you lose 1/3rd total stat on that tier. Then when you character gets the actual spirit into their body that power reaches 100% with a bonus, a bonus yet to be figured out. We're leaning more to immunity toward dark spore/ring/etc etc, or maybe something else entirely {if you have suggestions please post below on it}
Crest digivolution:
The decision of crest really hasn't been made, actually just came up first time today. Now we're thinking of having it similar as spirit digivolution situation, but with different bonuses.
The main problem I see with allowing these specialty digimon into the main lines, is that it ruins those digivolutions as specialties for those only chosen or earning of them. While at same time crests and spirits will probably be more abundant versus the main lines, because we won't give out cores but maybe once every other month, maybe longer? Then at same time you have to work for the crest and spirit, so maybe those will end up being rarer anyway, minus the fact you can customize it into your mainline.

I think it'd be cool to have them available at a cost. It could create some interesting character development if the costs are thought out enough

An idea I had for Spirit Digivolution, is that, until you do the Mega level AncientDigimon Sacrifice, you can only choose one of the forms of the Spirit Digimon form; either beast or human. In addition, the Digimon form will lose the one third as Ginger mentioned. After the sacrifice has been made, both forms are unlocked, and full power is restored. As for Armor, how about if you have an armor level Digimon in your line, that's the only armor form you can pick? Like, if you have a Veemon that, through his natural line, Digivolves to Raidramon, then it can't ever Armor Digivolve to some other form, like Flybeemon or Flamedramon, despite those forms normally being possible. |

I think crest digivolution should be available at a minor cost, and spirits require having the spirit (that is you can't get it pre-sacrifice, and the cost would be having a digivolution line that you can't reach until you get the appropriate spirit [but the spirit could theoretically be harder to steal than a normal fractal code? not sure how that would work...])

Earning the crests would be fun too. Having them available at all times would seem like a waste. Earning them would actually require work and would require people to put more into their posts.

If it is a yes you will be able to treat the digimon like it can be a regular digivolve, however it'll be weaker and without special bonuses compared to those that are earned. So you will still have to work for that digimon, just not as a hard. We will still have the specialty digivolution {crest/spirit} if it is a no, but they will not be treated or possible for regular digivolution lines.

Okay, I'm going to have to say no to both. First because it honestly seems like it could get rather complicated. Like... I already have no clue how things would work and am really confused by the explanation that was given. So you have to have a crest to Digivolve if you're going to have crests? Or you can Digivolve without a crest, but you're just weaker?
Personally, as this is the beginning of the creation of the digital world... I don't see why there's spirits and crests. It seems to detract from the premise of the site. No humans. No Digidestined. It was the Digidestined, not the Digimon, who received crests. The humans needed the crests to help their Digimon digivolve. Spirits was another thing that went with the Digidestined. They used the spirits to become Digimon. Well this site is Digimon only. You don't need a spirit, because you're already a Digimon. And as a Digimon, you don't need a crest, because you digivolve through natural evolution under certain conditions.
Introducing crests and/or spirits seems to be going against the very set up that this RP was given.

Hmm alright we can do that, no spirit. The crests however are for the armor digivolution which does happen before there were ever humans, so technically it is in the lore of the site. Since it is getting too complicated, we'll try to keep things simple as possible.

What if the spirits are leftover..Uhh.. Not SoAncientDigimon from the aplha era, and you can access them, but they are just fragments, since their data was scrambled. You have to go on a quest/character development thing to get full power/both forms(beast and human.) And, of you don't want to go on the quests, you need the sacrifice.  |
