Darkness.
Complete Darkness.
That is what surrounded Gerrant. He looked around but was able to find nothing. He tried to move but his movements were constricted. His face kept smudging against the solid darkness. He shoved the solid darkness as hard as he could. He started moving but there was a slight problem, he wasn't able to stop. Around and around and around he went until he hit a solid object and the darkness around him shattered an light flooded his eyes. He squinted and blinked a couple of times before his eye's finally adjusted to the light and everything around him came into view. He saw buildings all around him but he was suffering from a massive headache. Looking down he noticed he was in an egg, and he could tell that the pieces on the floor around him meant that he rolled into the wall.
Gerrant's furry blue body stood up on it's hind foot and tried to shake off the headache. A couple of digimon that resided in the town diverted their attention towards him. His head still hurt a bit so he sat amongst the egg shards and let loose a loud sigh.
"That hurt." Gerrant said as he winced in pain. He had no arms so he couldn't exactly rub his head. "Where do I go from here?" Gerrant was now looking around He didn't know exactly what to do. What exactly was his purpose for being in this place. He had no idea and that thought worried him a little.

It hadn't been too long since Beverly hatched. She pushed aside thinking about the old memories and concentrated in getting her bearings. Those memories were getting too confusing to consider and, frankly, gave the Zurumon a headache. So, what better way there was than to simply survey the town and collect her thoughts?
Up until this point, she was too nervous to really interact with anyone. This shyness seemed foreign, but she needed to figure out what was going on. Rather tame for a virus type, sure, but it was merely a childlike sense of self preservation.
It was about this point that the ghost-like digimon spotted another newly hatched digimon. In fact, this one just hatched right in front of her eyes! It was possibly this that made Beverly decide to actually talk to someone, or at least attempt it. And on she went, seemingly forgetting her nervousness along the way.
"Congrats, I guess..." and the nervousness resurfaced a bit as she thought about how to even greet this newborn digimon.

His head still hurt a little but he noticed the digimon that greeted him. "Th-Thank you." He said nervously. "I-I'm Gerr....Gerr?" He was having trouble remembering his name. He couldn't for the life of him remember. This was vexing the little Digimon to not be able to introduce himself because of a memory problem. He was a little fumed about this dilemma when suddenly images flooded through his head. He saw a cottage surrounded by tree's and another digimon that called his name. g....ant?.....errant? Gerrant! Exiting out the trance with his eye's wide opened he finally spoke his name. "Gerr-ant. My name is Gerrant." He said smiling a little bit. "I'm Gerrant the Petitmon! How do you do?"
He nodded his furry blue body as if too say hi. He wasn't exactly good with conversation. It took him a couple of minutes to introduce himself so an awkward silence filled the air. At this moment The young petitmon decided to break the silence with a question. "So what's your name?"

This guy was taking a long time remembering what his name was. But, to be fair, considering his situation and how Bev herself was having her own memory problems (most of the ones she did piece together are assumed memories due to the monotony of her past life), having this trouble seemed less and less odd to the Zurumon in hindsight. Maybe that's just how it was.
Still, it was minutes before he pieced together a name from his memories. Garrant the Petitmon, he said. Well, that was an interesting name, although it wasn't like she could compare it to much. He seem to brighten up a bit, having remembered.
Now it was Beverly's turn. She answered quickly, precisely, as-a-matter-of-factly...
"I haven't a clue."
This was another thing that was previously on her mind. What even was her name? Did she even had a name? From what she remembered, none of it was being referred to by name, nor was it any self-acknowledgement of even having one. And yet not knowing, or perhaps not being referred to by a name, seemed correct.
"So... I'm some nameless Zurumon." She seemed apathetic in her tone towards not remembering. "I'll come up with something soon."

It seemed like the Zurumon didn't know it's name but it would be quite a chore if Gerrant couldn't call his acquaintance by another name. Imagine if this guy was in a field of other Zurumon. How would he be able to find him? For now Gerrant would decide to come up with a temporary name and call the Zurumon that for the time being.
"Hm...How about I call you "Zuru" for the time being? Will it be alright?" Gerrant said with a smile. He noticed his facial features right away and blushed. He was quite shy to come up with a nickname on the spot like that. They weren't even officially friends yet for him to do that. "I mean if you don't want to be called that it's fine. It would just be like a temporary nickname or something." Gerrant looked to Beverly in approval to see if she would accept the name or not.

Bev contemplated on the "nickname" given. On one hand, she did not want to have someone else give her a name. She was going to find one herself, eventually. But she was in no rush to get one. On the other hand, it would probably be best to be given a handle of some sort. Might make things simpler.
"Okay, here's what we can do. You, and only you at the moment, can refer to me as Zuru. At least until I get a better name for myself."
Well, she accepted it somewhat, not looking at all jovial or disgusted. But as she said, only he could call her that. It was strictly a nickname, and "Zuru" was not something she wanted to get used to. Especially since it was just part of her species name. And most of all... she simply didn't like it. But, for the sake of saving a headache later on she would deal with it.
"So, Gerrant... any ideas as to what you are going to do?"

Gerrant was delighted by the fact that Beverly had accepted the nickname. Temporarily that is. The name was something made up on the spur of the moment so it was nothing special. Beverly would come up with something later when she wanted to. After all the name literally came from the first part of her digispecies so not much thought was put into it. The question of later activities was soon brought up. Gerrant really didn't know what he was going to do next. He was in the village of Origins still so there wasn't much to do around these parts. Granted he could go out exploring but, what would happen if a mean digimon were to attack them. They'd have no means to escape. No, not as they were now.
"I-I Don't know."
Gerrant looked towards the ground as soon as these words left his mouth. Almost immediately a glow began to form around him, white light and data soon revolved the young digimon as he now began to digivolve. The Petitmon soon began to shift and change as his digivolution sequence initiated. As the light grew brighter, Petitemon Digivolved to Babydmon. He was now a floating green sea horse like-dragon that levitated a couple centimeters off the ground.
"Ok so I guess the next thing to do would be digivolve. What now Zuru? I've got nothing."
Honetly Gerrant was extremely happy to digivolve. The problem of boredom still hadn't been solved. What exactly were the plans for the rest of the day going to be. At this moment Gerrant could care less. He would go anywhere. Anywhere was better than staying in this town for much longer.

Gerrant seemed pleased that Bev accepted the name. Well, that was good. However, she too did not know what to do next. But before much consideration can be given, Gerrant began to digivolve.
So soon? He was literally just born and now je was getting stronger! "Zuru" watched as he became a Babydmon with widened eyes. Once he finished, he replied to her. He seemed less excited that Bev figured he would be. Alas, he still had his boredom.
"Wha? Jeez... at this rate you're gonna be huge when night comes." She spoke in a way that even she wondered if she actually believed what she said. But she snapped out of her trance and continued.
"Um... I'm not sure what I will do myself. I have a lot on my mind... old... 'memories' I need to sort through. Maybe I'll steal a lunch or something, I dunno."

Gerrant Laughed as a little bit as Beverly made her little joke. "Possibly. Who knows how big I'll get." Gerrant liked this Zurumon quite a bit. As the Zurumon Continued Convesation Gerrant would listen further. He did not know what to do himself.
"I've also got a some memories I need to piece together as well. Only thing I remember is my name and that's all." Gerrant's memory was nothing but shadowy figures and unfamiliar places. He knew not a thing about who he used to be. That would pose quite the problem if an old friend or enemy were to approach him. The Babydmon looked into the digital sky above him and a struck of genius hit him.
"Hey! You want to go exploring with me? There's not much else to do around here."

Bev thought about going on this trip with Gerrant. Weighing her options, she gave him an answer. However, given how she frowned a bit, the answer might be obvious.
"Yes, but... not now. I apologize, bit I'm a bit distracted with my old memories... more that what I consider to be healthy. I still need some time to try to... deal with it."
However, Bev smirked. "However, if you still want to hang with a Virus type like me, we'll meet again soon. Hopefully I'll get a little bigger like you did."
Bev turned around, knowing that the Babydmon was very eager to leave. "Perhaps I'll get a name by then too. Anyway, I will not hold you up. I'll see you later."
And she slithered off. For what lasted for only a brief period, it was a highlight to her day. But still... she couldn't deal with her memories quiet yet.
(((EXIT))) (((I am in a thread that takes place after this, so to prevent a Time Paradox Bev cannot go.)))

"Aww ok. I guess I'll see you latter then. I'll Wish you good luck on sorting out through your memories."
With a delighted smile Gerrant waved goodbye as the young Zurumon slithered away. Gerrant would turn away and look at the forest to the far west of him. Maybe an adventure would actually seem Quite fun. For now he floated off into the city. The little babydmon would decide to explore the city a little bit more before he ventured out into the wild.
