The Digital world needs jobs such as Banks, black smith, transport, and etc. I want to know do you want your digimon to have these jobs and get data points for those job?
You'll have your own Board that you can keep track of, where digimon can create threads to require your digimon's services. This will be a good way for the digimon community to seem very realistic.
If you do not like the idea of your digimon having a job and receiving wages then merely vote for NPCs and we can just have rpiers rp the NPCs in the thread, although I would have to make a thread with all the site NPCs listed.
If do it where each character can have its own job that job would come with benefits, such as if you claim bank your bank character can use any sort of cores/codes that other digimon characters put in the bank for safety. Although you are only allowed to use these cores/codes inside your bank board.

I think this is a good idea because we already have Data Points and also the Digital World needs to be in balance. There's also a bit of evidence of jobs in the show because Elecmon says he protects and guards the newborn eggs. This can also be the way that jobs can be started considering we are a newly created Digital World that's only been here for a few weeks. Just my two cents.

Awesome idea! While considering the overall prospect of characters having jobs, we might want to consider the number of characters a single player can have that have these jobs. Only because somebody who joins and is like "oh I'd love a job" may be disheartened upon seeing a member holding five jobs, with all of their characters, with nothing really left for him/her. Though maybe there could always be an open sandbox on jobs/services. Sure, there's one Digimon providing transport... but there could be another I suppose. Just something to think of.

I'm thinking members themselves could come up with creative jobs as well, if they feel the need, like how members can have their characters become inventors. Then that character could invent things within this newly formed digimon world. Though you do have a point, so maybe 2 out of 3 characters can have a job? Then the last one is the rogue that pretty much wonders and really doesn't have a job or care for jobs?

I agree with both of you, but we do need to figure out what happens when a Digimon dies and is reborn. Does it get it's job back? Perhaps, we could have it so that they lose their job until they have the necessary stats in order to do the job back. Or, they gain their job back after they digivolve back to the form they gained their job in.

I was thinking they can keep the job, but it may depend on the job... Like if I was to Make King a job, the one who killed the King can become the new King. While Elecmon's job is easily as soon as he hatches and attacks.

I support the idea of player jobs, but I do think there should be npcs as well, at least, until a player takes a job, or if they go inactive etc.

The NPCs can work for the digimon like apprentices or assistants? That way if the digimon is too small or doing a journey at the time the assistants can take over. Though if the rpier isn't listed under hiatus they have to rp with the NPC in the shop board, will that work? If member listed as hiatus Staff will take over the NPC and open the job up for other members.

I like the idea, but I honestly think it should be run by NPCs. =] No offense to anyone, but I know from experience that having many subboards and boards slows down the site and is confusing to try to sort through for threads. That's one reason I joined this site; because it was very organized and neat, not cluttered with hundreds of boards and subboards. Maybe a few job boards would be alright with NPCs, but I am strongly against having a bunch of them and many members running them with banks, etc. I think the general idea is somewhat confusing. A few simple ones like restaurants, transports, etc, seem fun with NPCs, but the rest just don't appeal to me. ^^; This is my opinion though.

Ren has a pretty good point. You don't want all that kind of clutter. Maybe instead of having all those boards, you could have pinned topics within the area that the business would be in. And that could be where people sign up for a thread with the person who plays the Digimon that owns that service. Then in topic titles they could add [BUSINESS] or something if you want them to. Might be less crazy that way. But it does seem that most people DO want the chance to have their characters own a business. It's a fun concept, and I don't think giving the option is a bad idea. If you don't want to own a business you don't have to, and you could always RP that your character uses a business owned by an NPC if you don't want to RP business transactions with people.

I agree with Adronis. Maybe if they get over a certain number of posts they could earn a subboard? Like 50 posts in a business thread? =]
