The sun broke through the canopy tops as Gerrant had floated into the forest clearing. He was getting bored of the digimon village and wanted to do a bit of training. He was still an in-training digimon, but not for long. The little Babydmon was determined to change into rookie class by the end of the day. Using his horns and mouth, Gerrant gathered some dead sticks, rolled dead tree stumps, and picked a couple flowers. In a couple of minutes Gerrant created a couple of training dummies to train with out of sticks and nearby shrubbery. They were all assorted differently as Gerrant stood back to survey his work.
There were 5 training dummies Gerrant had created. From left to right they were put in size order, the one on the right being the smallest, compared to the one on the left which was much much bigger than the other 4. Gerrant was releived to have finished in so little time. He wanted to digivolve as fast as possible. Floating back Gerrant would get back as far as possible until he could identify how far he had to be for his moves to hit. He backed up several feet and began using his attacks.
"Flame Stream!" He called blowing a short stream of fire that didn't even touch the first Dummy to the right. Gerrant couldn't see because the flames went up blocking his view. As the move would end Gerrant would come to find that his attack didn't even touch the dummy. Regardless of that fact however, he began to digivolve. The same light that once surrounded him in the city surrounded him here and now in the forest clearing. "Babydmon digivolve to...Dracomon!"
As Gerrant's transformation sequence came to an abrupt end, he admired himself. He actually had feet now. He could walk. No more bouncing. No more Floating. He was able to use feet. Admiring himself he examined his blue body and new features. His tail looked strong and think but his arms looked pretty weak and scrawny. Gerrant would decide to test out this form on the dummies.
"Tail Smash!" he called spinning 360 and completely destroying the smallest dummy. He went onto the next one and used a different move. "Small Breath!" He cried as a Ball of fire left his mouth smacking the second smallest dummy away from him. Now moving onto the medium sized training dummy Gerrant would use his last new move. "Flame Spreader!" The flame left his mouth and hit a wide area this time. It hit two dummies at the same time. The bigger one took a while longer to burn down but now it was time for the challenge. Gerrant looked up at his magnificent construct. "Flame Spreader!" He called trying to burn the last Dummy down. It tool a while for the flames to rise so he thought he'd speed up the process. "Tail Smash." Spinning around the construct wobbled and wiggled a bit. Finally getting fed up with the thing, Gerrant decided to give it one more heavy attack, "Tail Smash!" He cried finally knocking the large behemoth off balance. The monster burned down and Gerrant fell back to look at the sky above. He was tired and the sun was still up. Right now he was bored again. What was a digimon to do?

It almost felt liberating to have a clear mind. This recently digivolved DemiDevimon (with some sort of lizard like tail, which was a mutation she brushed off as nothing to be concerned over) was in a good mood. Of course, her new form was hardly all that big. Even her In Training form was slightly larger. But not only was she more powerful, but she remembered something...
Her name.
Beverly also broke from her mental conflict, worrying about her past. Now she had a healthy desire to get stronger. She would resolve to gain power by any means. She wanted to travel and make a name for herself. Beverly won't let her past life drag her down!
While flying through the forest, the bat digimon heard some noises. Of course, this is a prime area for young digimon to train, and she assumed as such. Curious, she went to the noises.
Arriving to see a Babydmon attacking training dummies, she immediately recognized him by his species and voice. And in time to see him evolve to a Dracomon. Bev watched him finish his training perched upside down on a tree branch. He's getting quite powerful himself. Of course, while he had raw power Bev felt she had her cunning and agility. And darts of poison. He would, never the less, make a great ally in the foreseeable future.
"Well, well, well, from egg to baby to in training to rookie, all right before my eyes. But are piddly little training dummies *reaaallly* going to help you much now?"
Despite her tone and her grin, she was being friendly.
"And no more of that Zuru mess. Th' name's Beverly, now!"

The male digimon raised his head to find Beverly hanging upside down from a tree branch.
"Huh?" Gerrant said getting up quickly he faced the demidevimon who had spoke the comment in regards to him. He didn't notice the little bat digimon until it spoke. "How have you seen me hatch and digivolve? And why does it matter how I choose to train anyways?" Gerrant was about to use his small breath but the Demidevimon spoke again.
As soon as the demidevimon mentioned "Zuru", Gerrant connected the dots and realized his first friend had made an appearance. This time as a Rookie level digimon. "Zuru is that you?" Gerrant asked inquisitively. After careful consideration Gerrant had fully recognized his friend and gave a delighted smile. "I guess I can't call you "Zuru" anymore huh?" He said with a chuckle. I see you've come up with a name, all by yourself." Gerrant was absolutely delighted to see his friend again.
"I've been searching for answers, but I can't find anything?" Gerrant gave a large sigh. "At least one of us is accomplishing our goals. So what brings you out into the forest?"

Bev noticed that he didn't immediently recognize her. That was okay, as he quickly did. However, despite just saying not to call her Zuru, he referred to her as such once more. But he corrected himself.
She let go of the branch, fluttering down to about eye level with Gerrant. My, he certainly was a big fellow compared to her.
"First off, I remembered my name from my past. And, with it, a bit of an epithany. I realized I should let my past bring me down. It was boring and repetitive... at least what I remember."
She took up another perch, Gerrant's head. Oh, this was a good perch area. The horns could even act as wing-rests. And the view was pretty good all things considered.
"But I have a newfound resolve to become stronger, you see? That's why I'm here, to do a bit of training. To explore a bit and get my feet wet. And here I am, talking to you again. A faster reunion than I imagined, but no less welcome."
She got off his head, and used a few "Demi Darts!" at the fallen dummies, throwing syringes full of poison. Not that it would do any good.
"This is hardly target practice. In any case... you should take up a secondary hobby, like me! Something to do to ease your mind."

"That's pretty cool beverly. You remembered something of your past." Gerrant was honestly happy for Beverly. He himself had made no progress whatsoever in trying to find out who he was. All he saw where shadows of digimon that he used to know. It was honestly bugging him, but he hid it all with a smile.
Beverly soon introduced the idea of him getting a secondary hobby. He didn't realize the young digimon was perched on top of his head until she spoke. He looked up and figured what other hobbies could he take up that would be helpful?
"I don't think that any other hobby fit's me really. I like training. I'd just need to get stronger so I can establish what I hope will benefit the digital world. I don't know what made me into a digiegg again, but I know it was because I was beaten, so if I could somehow be strong enough to protect the weak." Gerrant looked up to the digital wild blue yonder. There were no clouds around while the sun was shining down. He was staring up at the sky but not directly at it. He was staring at his goals and future aspirations, hoping to accomplish them. "One day, I'll be one beast of a digimon."
At this point Gerrant realized he went on a bit of a tangent. He was ranting about becoming this super strong digimon that would protect those who were weaker than he. "sorry if I went off topic." He said apologizing to his friend.

The dragon digimon, congradulating Bev over remembering her past, then said that there was no hobbies he could do, and went off to state his aspirations. It was simply being powerful enough to protect others. Beverly laughed, but not *at* Gerrant.
"You have a goal you want to achieve. No shame in stating it to a pal, you know? Maybe it's because of what I remember of my past that I want to take up a hobby. Well, work more at it, at least. I'm sure most of us other digimon want to get stronger. But don't think a hobby is nothing important. I think... and this is my own opinion... that it helps build who you are. And it puts things into perspective.
Let me think..." The small bat digimon landed, pacing around and thinking about something. Her tail waved side to side, sweeping up a bit of dirt as she walked.
"You want strength? You want to help others? Here's a hobby... building! Just imagine being able to rebuild the houses that other digimon have destroyed? Or making shelter for a wounded, weakened digimon!
Look, Gerrant, you don't have to forget your past, but it'll weigh down on you like it did for me if you dwell on it too much. I can't remember who took me out... and for all intents and purposes I probably deserved it. But I'm not going to worry about it. Neither should you. If it comes back, good. If not, just keep moving onward!"
Beverly stopped, and scratched her head. "I might be talking too big for someone my size, but you get the drift, right pal?"

"Building? That, seems...like...it'd be a pretty good Idea." Gerrant said thinking as he spoke. He actually was about to say the idea was lame but actually gave it some thought. "That actually seems interesting, let's make something big!" Before the Beverly Could speak, Gerrant, went to one of the surrounding tree's and spun around as hard as he could, "IRON TAI-er-I mean TAIL SMASH!" He slapped the tree quite hard with his tail. And with a couple more thwacks, he was able to knock the tall tree down. Gerrant couldn't wait to start building now. It was like something in him was driving him forward like his body knew what it was doing all on it's own. It was all weird seeing as how Gerrant to his extent hadn't built anything since he was reborn. Smashing the tree with his tail he crudely cut the wood to make logs and such. He was about to start building when he stopped at the preparation stage. Piles of wood were separated by size as he stood in front of the empty plot of land. "Woah, what just happened?"

It seemed Gerrant would have brushed aside Bev's suggestion were it not for some deeper thinking. Suddenly he was into it, making the bat digimon grin. Then he wanted to build something at this very moment. Before she could ask him what he would even make, he started breaking down and cutting a tree.
Beverly simply watched, honestly impressed with his tenacity and his drive. It was inspiring, even. Oh no, she would not stop him. Nor would she help at the moment because she had no idea what the plan was nor confidence in her physical strength to lift up most of any of the pieces of wood.
He stopped, having broken out of his trance. Even he wasn't sure what just happened.
"I'm not too sure what happened either, but I'll tell you one thing... you got moxie, pal. I'm almost jealous. You're almost practically hero material."
Bev then reflected on her virus status. She would be nothing like that. A hero. Nor did she ever had any desire to do as such. Perhaps she haven't completely thought put what she would do herself.
What if she and Gerrant had to fight each other? The idea sent chills down her spine and tail.
"Gerrant..." she spoke in a low tone. "...I want to ask you something. I know certain types of digimon are predisposed to certain acts, most times. But...what if we had to fight, you know? Like, actually duke it out?"

Gerrant Blushed a bit when Beverly called him "Hero" material. Her compliments were doing wonders to his ego but he kept humble and smiled shyly. "Well, anyone can be a hero really. They'd just need the opportunity to become one regardless if you're Virus, Vaccine, or Data." He scratched his face with a claw and realized his friend was beginning to look a bit down. "Hey Bev. What's wrong?"
The Demidevimon conveyed her problems onto Gerrant who in turn would have to deeply think about the situation. If Beverly would in fact become one of the bad Digimon, their path's would indeed cross and a fight might have to break out. Gerrant would now be torn between justice and friendship. Though ultimately he would choose justice he didn't want to lose a friend because of it. "You know? When the time comes that we have to fight, I'll just say, may the best digimon win. I wouldn't want to fight you to be honest, but remember deep down, though I may be doing my job, I will always be your friend. Even when you deny our friendship."
Gerrant smiled softly to the bat Digimon and nodded his head. "When the time comes, I wish the best of luck to you. But for now, we're the best of friends right?"

Bev had almost induced a state of panic within herself. But Gerrant had calmed her down with his kind words. She took a few breaths and spoke to the dragon digimon.
"I'm... so sorry Gerrant. You're right... 'may the best digimon win'. It's just that...
I said before my past life was repetitive. I was just a hench-mon. I attacked others and did little else in my leisure time. I think... that was when I started singing to myself. Finding a hobby was the only way *I* could keep sane.
Surrounded by other digimon, but no one to talk to. When I was killed... I don't even remember who killed me last, and I never cared. But I felt cold... alone with no one to support me. And that feeling scares me more and more. I can be by myself, but I can't stand being alone, you understand?
You're my first friend ever. I'm not a hero type. Admittedly I find more interest in the other end of the spectrum. But I don't ever want to forget our friendship, Gerrant. I can't bear it, and... just thinking about it scares me.
So... yeah... if we fight, it's only to guage the other's progress. No malice or hatred between us, alright pal? "
The bat digimon fave a weak, warm grin towards Gerrant as she flew up to him.

Gerrant was now finally able to hear his friends story. He couldn't imagine Beverly being a robot, being told what to do. Especially killing other Digimon. Granted they just respawned back in beginner village but, that seemed just plain cruel. It shocked him to be honest but, he accepted everyone, regardless of their past. It was just part if his inner personality. So as Beverly finished speaking, Gerrant returned the weak grin with a confident smile on his own.
"Don't worry Beverly we're friends regardless of whatever happens. Even if you betray me, I want you to know deep down that you're still my friend, regardless of what you think. Friends for all eternity! So you don't have to worry about being alone, because I'm here. When we fight, I'll make sure no malice or hatred is felt between us. It's not in my nature to get angry."
Gerrant reassured the Bat digimon that everything would be alright no matter what. Gerrant was really naiive to be honest. He'd just put his trust in everyone. Friendship was everything to Gerrant. It's what he felt, kept the world sane.

Bev's smiled widened a bit, once more landing on Gerrant's head. She was upbuilt, and back in her good mood.
"You know what? What you said sounds naive and silly. And yet I wholeheartedly believe it. No matter what, friends forever! I just have to make sure I don't lose myself. Last thing I want is to return to how my past life was."
And, so, the bat digimon started humming a tune, and sang a few simple notes. Indeed, while she was not a perfect singer, one could tell much practice was put into her singing ability. "I don't know any songs at the moment, but whatever. I'll learn a few one day. Anyway, what's next, big guy? Gonna blast more dummies? Or... maybe we can spar? Not to beat each other, but a good work out to get used to our abilities."
Bev, nice more, flew off his head and faced him. "I might be small now, but don't underestimate me!"

"Yeah, I'd love to spar with you!" Gerrant said delightedly. He was happy to finally test out his abilities against another digimon. He would've been bored by himself if he were training with dummies the entire time. "Don't worry, I won't." Gerrant said with a giggle.
Backing up a bit Gerrant prepared for the battle that was yet to come. He was just waiting for his friend to get ready. He was going over the information in his head at the moment as they prepared themselves. Beverly was small, but those Demi Darts could be a problem. The other thing was that, Beverly might've been a bit faster than Gerrant, counting their mass and everything. Gerrant had power though, so with a couple of hits, he'd take her out. He'd decide to hold back a little, he didn't want to destroy her. After all it was just a sparring match.
after acquiring a safe distance away from Beverly he called to her. "I'm Ready when you are!"

Gerrant had eagerly accepted the challenge and got ready. Bev followed suit, flying away from him before facing him again.
He was big, but Beverly had flight. As long as she controlled distance well enough, and avoid being hit too much (his tail *can* knock down trees), she should be fine. With flight and her small size, plus her Darts, she felt she could wear him down. At least the poison in the darts were not fatal. She would also go easy on him, but all things considered she'd have to try harder to do big damage against him. Ah well, this was only a spar, and the worst that should happen is for her to lose against him.
"Alright... I'm ready! Demi Darts!"
She began with throwing a few of her Demi Darts at him. She wanted to gauge his speed, and wasn't trying to aim at him. That said, if he did not move, Gerrant would get hit and get poisoned. Immediently after firing off her darts, she flew around, making herself as hard a target as she could.

As the Demi Darts came flying at him, Gerrant sidestepped quickly, to move out of their way. He had already deemed the darts as dangerous. A problem arose however, Beverly had begun moving quite fast in an un-orderly fashion. Gerrant couldn't tell where exactly she would appear next as she fluttered all around him.
It's a good thing flame stream upgraded. he said to himself. "Flame Stream!" He called out while breathing fire in a cone area. This had more of a chance of hitting the demidevimmon that was moving erratically, seeing as how it might dodge into the fire by accident. The Dracomon soon began to flutter his wings as he unsteadily began floating off the ground. "Woah." He said wobbling in the air a bit. His wings would only carry him but so high, seeing as how disproportionate his wings were to his body. Finally giving up on flying he decided to keep up on foot. "Flame spreader!" He called out again trying to hit the Demidevimon another time.
